An article titled "It's Fun to be at U-N-C-S-A" in the Winston-Salem Journal features North Carolina Governor's School alumnus Randy Jones, who is best known for portraying Cowboy in the Village People.
Jones' connection to Winston-Salem goes back to the summer of 1969 when
he studied drama at the Governor's School of North Carolina on the
campus of Salem College. After graduating from a Raleigh high school in
1970, he went off to UNC Chapel Hill before transferring to the School
of the Arts to study modern dance.
