An article titled "Pocono Mountain West Senior Speaks for Students in Harrisburg" in the Pocono Record features the appointment of Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences alumna Elizabeth Williams as Pennsylvania's first student delegate to the state Board of Education.
Elizabeth Williams, 17, a senior at Pocono Mountain West High School,
was chosen to be the first student delegate to the state's Board of
Education.... Williams, who plans to be a pre-med major in college, has attended the
prestigious Governor's School for the Sciences, participated in camps
for state and local student councils and represented the district at
leadership seminars. She also sings in the chorus, has logged 1,000
hours of community service and is ranked sixth in her class of more
than 500, she said.
