On editorial titled "Is Pennsylvania Financing Its Own Brain Drain?" by John D. Forester, Jr., in the Reading Eagle questions whether the Pennsylvania Governor's Schools of Excellence promote and encourage Pennsylvania's best and brightest students to leave the state in pursuit of professional and personal goals.

The advocates say the kids who are awarded scholarships to one of the schools in this program are given a boost over gifted students in other states and represent Pennsylvania when they go on to greatness.

Others point out that these gifted people usually leave the state and rarely return the investment made in them. In other words, the state is financing its own brain drain.
